Join us for a ski touring trip in Svalbard, perfect for alpine enthusiasts and those seeking a unique adventure. With snow falling since September, you'll have the chance to try various types of alpine skis - randonnee, splitboard, and telemark - amidst the remote, wild landscape.

This trip is ideal for those who want to experience the best of Svalbard while camping outdoors and skiing around the clock. Learn how to set up an Arctic camp, live in the cold, and navigate the terrain on skis. Our campsite is nestled in a location off the beaten path, providing the perfect base for our adventure.

Participants will take turns on polar bear watch at night, ensuring safety and offering hands-on experience in Arctic camping and wildlife awareness. Our guide will teach you everything you need to know for a safe and enjoyable experience.

Day 1: Preparation and first ascent

The adventure begins with a 9 AM pickup. From there, we head to our storage facility for a comprehensive briefing and to pack for the day. Participants only need to carry essentials, as the rest of the gear will be transported to our campsite. During the briefing, we cover a range of important topics including general trip information, details about the campsite and daily routines, polar bear safety, avalanche awareness, and more.

Once prepared, we set off on our first skiing trip, ascending a nearby summit. From the peak, we ski directly to our campsite, enjoying the Arctic scenery along the way. Upon arrival at the campsite, we set up our tents and prepare for the night. Our luggage will be waiting for us, having been transported ahead of time. We then prepare dinner, organise polar bear watch shifts, and settle in for a well-deserved rest, ready for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Summit Climb and Full Day of Skiing

We start the day with an 8 AM wake-up call, followed by a satisfying breakfast to fuel our adventure. This day is entirely dedicated to skiing. We leave the campsite with our skis and embark on an ascent to another nearby summit. After a rewarding day on the slopes and taking in the stunning views from the top, we ski back to our campsite, where we can relax and recount the day's experiences.

    Day 3: Return to Longyearbyen

We begin our final day with a hearty breakfast. After eating, we review the weather and avalanche forecast together to determine the safest and most enjoyable route back to town. If conditions permit, we'll aim to reach another summit on our return journey. However, our top priority is always safety, and we'll adjust our plans accordingly. By the end of the day, we will have made our way back to Longyearbyen, concluding our skiing adventure.
