The trip starts with pick-up from the accommodation and transport down to our storage house where the guide gives a short briefing about the trip. Everyone is given equipment to take up to the ice cave, prepares the packs they will take with them before we are transported up to the parking lot where we continue on foot with snowshoes across the snow.

Once the snowshoes have been adapted properly, we head straight for the glacier and the ice cave where we will spend our subterranean night. It doesn't take long before we are in the outskirts of the city lights coming from Longyearbyen, and we can properly experience the polar night where you really get a feel for Arctic life outside of civilization.

Once inside the magical ice cave, you get to experience an underground world with halls, narrow passages and thick layers of ice in fantastic, natural shapes both big and small. After a bit of exploring, it is time for dinner to be enjoyed in our crystallized dining room before crawling into warm sleeping bags for the night and falling asleep to the sounds of a glacier in constant motion.

After a good breakfast, we pack up and prepare for the return down the glacier. Then it's a short way back to Longyearbyen and civilization. We expect to be back in Longyearbyen at 11:00.
