Itinerary
Along the central west coast of Spitsbergen, Prins Karls Forland forms an 86 km long and 11 km wide island. Towards this island's western coast, the waves break directly from the Arctic Ocean, and North Greenland becomes the next land mark in the west. The island is a landscape of contrasts with alpine peaks, iridescent grasslands and barren stone deserts side by side.
In this wonderful landscape, we offer an 8-day long hike. There we wander with the tent on our backs, and make a new camp for each night. We will experience a wonderfully rich wildlife and visit cultural monuments from previous fishing and industrial activity on the archipelago of Svalbard. During the trip, we will really feel like part of the great wilderness, and the probability of meeting other people in this part of Svalbard is minimal.
