Half-Day Kayak: Explore the Fjord
June - September
Join us for a kayaking trip in the beautiful Adventfjorden, surrounded by majestic mountains and untouched Arctic nature. The kayak allows you to glide silently over the water, finding a natural rhythm in your paddling. Some days, the fjord is mirror-like and calm; other times, small waves add an extra dimension to the experience. This tour is perfect for beginners looking for a safe and guided introduction to kayaking in the Arctic.
We start with transport to the boathouse, where you receive your equipment. Before heading out, the guide will provide an introduction to paddling techniques and safety. The kayaks are stable, making the trip suitable for anyone with a sense of adventure!
From Longyearbyen, we paddle towards Hiorthfjellet or follow the coastline towards Isfjorden, depending on weather conditions. The experience changes with the season – from the endless daylight of the midnight sun in June to the golden autumn light in September.
Along the way, we may get close to wildlife, as the kayak moves almost silently through the water. We also collect any litter we find, leaving minimal traces behind – a sustainable way to explore Svalbard’s unique nature.
