Ski Touring to Trollsteinen

kr1,850.00Price
  • February - May

Discover Trollsteinen – an iconic 850-meter peak and one of the most popular ski tours on Svalbard. This adventure combines steady uphill terrain, panoramic views from the summit, and skiing in truly spectacular Arctic surroundings.

Your day begins with pick-up at your hotel. At our expedition base, the guide gives a thorough briefing before we head out. If you are renting equipment, you’ll be collected 30 minutes earlier so everything is ready when the group departs for the starting point in Nybyen.

From here, we ascend through a dramatic moraine landscape, surrounded by towering mountains with the glacier straight ahead. The silence is striking – no snowmobiles, just the sound of skis gliding and the group making its way upward. Reaching the glacier, the terrain opens up, and we traverse towards Trollsteinen. The final stretch makes you feel small in the vast Arctic landscape. At the summit, we pause to enjoy a well-deserved expedition lunch while taking in breathtaking views across the wilderness.

The descent is the perfect finale – how often do you get the chance to ski down a glacier at 78° North? Back in Longyearbyen, a well-earned rest awaits, perhaps together with your new skiing buddies.

This tour can also be booked as a private tour – price per guide is 8,500 NOK
