Season: April

Tour Description
Escape to a quiet valley surrounded by iconic Svalbard mountains on this rare 3-day ski touring adventure. Perfect for ski enthusiasts looking for something different, this trip focuses on exploring pristine Arctic landscapes, skiing untouched terrain, and enjoying the tranquility of a remote wilderness base camp.
Each day, we set out on skis from camp to explore the surrounding peaks and valleys. Honestly, we don’t care if you prefer randonnée, telemark, or splitboarding - we can find rewarding runs for everyone! Starting directly from camp each day minimizes our impact on nature and adds to the sense of isolation and adventure.
At night, you and the group will take turns keeping polar bear watch – a unique experience. In fact, for many of our guests this becomes a highlight of the trip, second only to skiing under the magical midnight sun, of course.
Ready to ski Svalbard?
Day 1
We pick you up at 9:00 AM and head to our base for a safety briefing, gear check, and packing. We’ll also cover avalanche awareness and essential routines before it’s time to hit the snow! Our first ski tour leads us to the iconic Trollsteinen summit from where we will ski down to camp and leave civilization behind. At camp, your gear awaits. We’ll set up tents, enjoy a hearty dinner, and organize polar bear watch before settling in for the night.
Day 2
Today is all about skiing! Imagine waking up, already perfectly positioned for a fun day in the mountains. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, gear up, and head straight out! With endless opportunities just outside camp, your guide will work out a plan with you to best match the group’s ambitions and the snow conditions.
After an action-packed day, we return to camp for a well-deserved meal, sharing stories and highlights. And who knows? We might even head out for one last run under the magical midnight sun.
Day 3
After breakfast, we pack up camp, and if conditions allow, we can head for one more summit on our way. You know the drill by now, so today is all about having a good time with old and new friends.
By late afternoon, we’ll return to Longyearbyen. Perhaps you want to gather with the group for a meal to celebrate an unforgettable ski touring adventure in one of the wildest places on Earth.

Disclaimer
The itinerary may change due to weather or safety concerns beyond our control. If polar bears are present near the camp, adjustments will be made to avoid disturbing their habitat and ensure guest safety. In rare cases, this could involve returning to Longyearbyen and conducting day trips instead. The safety of both wildlife and our guests remains our highest priority throughout the expedition.
