  • Turbeskrivelse

Come with us on a three days' journey in the untouched Arctic wilderness. Our expedition offers the best way to experience the raw Arctic landscapes while ensuring your safety every step of the way, thanks to the expertise of our guides.

During this adventure, you’ll learn how to camp in Arctic conditions, and we’ll share with you proven routines that have stood the test of time. You’ll also experience the thrill of polar bear watch under the vast Arctic sky. Our campsite, nestled in a valley off the beaten path, provides the perfect setting for an authentic Arctic camping experience unlike any other.

This is a self-supported expedition, for which we will use pulkas - small sleds which we’ll drag behind us using a harness attachment - which allow us to transport all necessary equipment across the snowy terrain.

But the adventure doesn't end there. Weather permitting, we'll ascend to a mountain summit, possibly Trollsteinen, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Discover the true essence of exploring the Arctic firsthand!

    Dag 1:

Our journey begins with a morning pick-up and a quick drive to our storage facility, where we'll gather for a comprehensive briefing and gear selection session. We'll load up our pulka with everything we need for our polar expedition. Like real explorers, we'll head out of town and into the wilderness, hiking deep into the white landscape far away from civilisation, donning spikes or snowshoes as needed to navigate the terrain. Keep your eyes peeled for glimpses of wildlife in the white landscape as we journey to our campsite location! Here, under the guidance of your guide, you'll learn how to set up tents in sub-zero temperatures before gathering in the communal tent for a well deserved dinner.

Polar Bear Lookout: You'll have the unique experience of being on polar bear lookout at night. After a full safety briefing, each member of the group will take it in turns to keep watch, while the fellow explorers sleep.

    Dag 2:

We wake up greeted by steaming hot drinks and a wholesome breakfast. Energised and ready, we set out for a hike with a light backpack. Your guides will select the route based on weather and avalanche conditions. The hike will immerse you in the vast scenery, perhaps over nearby glaciers or to a mountaintop viewpoint. Today's hike is tailored to the group's abilities, ensuring a rewarding experience for all.

    Dag 3:

After another night spent beneath the Arctic sky, we prepare to break camp and continue our journey. Loading our pulkas with care, we set out to explore once more. The weather conditions will dictate the exact route and your guide will choose the best option. All being well, we'll reach another high point for sweeping vistas over Svalbard whilst edging closer to Longyearbyen, arriving back into civilisation in the afternoon. Returning to your guesthouse after what will feel like a lifetime outdoors, with a hot shower being the order of the day, perhaps followed by what could very well be the most well-earned glass of wine of your life.

Guide deler gruppen inn i skift for å holde leiren trygg.
