Summer ski trip, Ymerbukta - Ekmannfjorden

Our series of ski trips on Svalbard are concluded with this ultimate ski experience. In the beginning of June, the summer will be approaching; thus, this period is ideal for ski trips on Svalbard. Assisted by arranged boat transportation, it is possible to embark on long ski trips in a fantastic nature without meeting other people. Along the glaciers on the west side of Svalbard, the mountains are more pointed and more alpine than on the east side. A ski trip across the large glaciers in West Spitsbergen in June can therefore provide the optimal experience of Svalbard. This is an encounter with stark contrasts: From days with northern wind, snow and freezing cold, through cold polar fog and drizzle to splendid sunny days; from fjords with a buzzing bird and animal life to large, white glacier surfaces where the mountains fill the horizon. Snow and ice cover the glaciers, while sprouting flowers and nesting birds reside further down by the waterside.
