The winter is very long on Svalbard, in May the sun warms and we have daylight all day and night. This makes ideal conditions for a ski expedition in a magnificent winter landscape just below the North Pole. This expedition takes us from one of Spitsbergen’s northernmost points, only 1200 kilometres from the North Pole. From there, we will ski through the north-west parts of Spitsbergen with its pointy mountains, wide fjords and vast glaciers, before we end our journey in a small fjord in Isfjorden area. With all our equipment packed in individual pulkas, we will travel through secluded areas where you rarely see other people. Out here, it is the seabirds, bears, seals, reindeer and a single trapper that reign. The durability of the ski expedition is 15 days, and the route is 210 kilometres long. We will use 2 additional days for preparations and transportation.
